Pronoun is a word which takes the place of a noun (called "the antecedent")

1. Personal pronouns
Personal pronouns refer to person/people speaking, spoken to or spoken about
a. Personal pronouns as subjects:
I/we/you/they/she/he/it
b. Personal pronouns as objects:
me/us/you/them/her/him/it
E.g. You are not alone.
She wants to study abroad.
They allowed her to go out with him.
It is very important for us.
2. Possessive pronouns
Possessive pronouns function independently and show possession
a. Possessive adjectives:
My/our/your/their/her/his/its
b. Possessive pronouns
Mine/ours/yours/theirs/hers/his/its
My heart will go on and on.
She tries to please her parents.
Her pen is on the table. Where is yours?
His wife is prettier than mine.
3. Indefinite pronouns
Indefinite pronouns have no specific antecedents
Examples: another, both, everything, nothing, etc.
Everybody appears eager.
Nothing pleased him.
I won’t tell anyone about your secrets.
I want to have something to do, someone to love
4. Reflexive pronouns
Reflexive pronouns show the subject performs actions to/for itself
Myself ourselves
Yourself yourselves
Themselves herself
Himself itself
I hate myself for loving you.
He killed himself.
Look at yourself in the mirror.
Behave yourselves!
5.Intensive pronouns
Intensive pronouns: refer back to a noun/pronoun to add emphasis to it
Myself ourselves
Yourself yourselves
Themselves herself
Himself itself
I have done it myself.
You yourself should make an excuse.
They themselves make their clothes .
6. Reciprocal pronouns
Reciprocal pronouns show a mutual action or relationship
each other, one another, etc
They love each other.
They fought one another.
7. Interrogative pronouns
Interrogative pronouns are used to ask a question (who, which, what)
Who do you admire most?
Which is longer, the Nile or the Thames?
What would you like to do now?
8.Relative pronouns
Relative pronouns are used to introduce a relative clause (who, which, that, etc)
She is the girl that I adore.
They are the students who got the scholarship
The apples which I bought yesterday are fresh
9.Demonstrative pronouns
Demonstrative pronouns substitute for specific nouns (this, that, these, those)
This is what you need.
Who is that?
